Description
I tried to depict what it might have looked like when the round-up of Cherokee families in the mountainous areas of Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia began. These were people who had acculturated much of the European life-style and had been assimilated into the European culture of the rest of the United States. They were singled out purely because of their skin tones and what few of their cultural traits they still possessed. It was a sad and shameful time in out history. Many of them died on the Trail of Tears before they reached what is now Oklahoma. I wanted to show basically that these people except for physical traits looked like the rest of us.
