Description
When I was a teenager and before we ever got a chainsaw, I and my dad's step-brother cut down a lot of poplar trees on our farm. My dad was working on a job somewhere and I and Ken were designated to do the tree cutting. The logs were destined for a trip to the local sawmill to be cut into boards. It was a very tiring job.. I can still hear Ken complaining that I was 'riding the saw'. I swore that I was not. Riding the saw meant that I was putting my weight on the saw and it left the other person having to pull the saw and me, too. Looking back with a great distance from that time, I am now sure that I was 'riding the saw'.
