Description
A yellow-bellied sapsucker is pecking holes in vertical lines up a white birch tree. They and their young feed on sap that accumulates in the little holes. According to Wikipedia, their diet is varied from sap, insects, berries, fruit, nuts, bast and cambium from trees. Although certain deciduous trees are preferred, there are a large number that they will drill for sap.

Fantastic work, Danny! Reminds me of oriental prints somehow...the strong simple shapes and colors, maybe. LF
